...Congratulations to Tommie C. McKenzie for being elected the new Lovell Fire Chief! Recently retired from the Conway Police Department, Tommie has a vast knowledge of emergency skills and will do a great job (it is so nice to once again see town info on the message board. And thanks to Mark Moulton for serving the past five years as Chief. Although he gave many hours of service to the town, he plans to remain an active member of the department...

...Two Ice Fishing Derbies this weekend. From 10 am to noon on Heald Pond is the Annual John McKeen Fishing Derby. The 2nd Annual Lovell Lions Club Fishing Derby takes place from 7 am to 2 pm and will be on both Kezar Lake and Keewaydin Lake!...

...Get ready for the Fourth Annual Lovell Winter Carnival on March 5th that is sponsored by the Lovell Recreation Department and the New Suncook PTA from 1 to 4 pm. Activities to take place include sledding, snowball toss, snowmobile rides, snowshoe games, cross-country ski games, an Easter egg hunt and much more. The event is for young and old and is designed to be a celebration of winter as we get closer to spring. The takes place at the New Suncook School. ...Please be sure to attend the Potluck Dinner on Saturday, February 5th at the New Suncook School. The PTA is working hard to raise funds for new playground equipment that will serve the special needs students attending the school. You will be entertained by Heather Pierson and there will be a student art display and a raffle with a number of great gifts. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. It is shaping up to be a fun evening and all proceeds go towards the equipment. If you can't make the dinner, please buy some raffle tickets. Phone number at New Suncook is 925-6711...

...Get your baking dishes ready as the popular Taste of Lovell is coming! Sunday, February 13th at the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library. The emphasis is on desserts and chocolate but if you have a favorite appetizer, please share it with everyone. The tasting begins at 2:00 and talented Fryeburg Academy musicians will be playing. Check out the February Newsletter for more details!...

...Lovell Rec wants everyone to know that the trails are open on the Lake Kezar Country Club course for cross-country skiing. I'm sure that you have seen skiers enjoying themselves on the trails as you have been driving by...

There will also be an auction of student-made wreaths as well as a very special visitor from the North Pole...

There are plenty of other holiday gifts and decorations available, as well as a treasure table and some delicious food for lunch. Don't forget to purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win a quilt and a holiday basket...

...Stop by any of the local stores and library and pick-up a request card on the SAD 72 GIVING TREE. Just pick a card, purchase the requested gift and return it to the original store. The gifts are given to children and needy families in our area. Bring a smile to a face this Christmas season!...
