Lovell Old Home Days and the 5k Run

Not having grown up in New England, I was very confused by the whole concept of "Old Home Days". The funny thing is, as I asked locals to define it, I got a lot of different answers including some "I have no idea". Turns out it originated in New Hampshire, way back in 1897. Here's a good summary from Yankee Magazine.

Lovell's Old Home Days celebration begins this Friday, July 20th, with the BBQ Chicken and Pig Roast (benefits the Kezar Trailbreakers' snowmobile club) at the Athletic Field. The 5k Run starts the festivities on Saturday morning, followed by the Grand Parade, led by the beautiful Draft Horses from Enchanted Acres, and then lots of activities and food at the Field. The Blue Willow Band will be playing in the gazebo, the Lovell Fire Department will be hosting an Open House, there will be more than 20 craft tables, non-profits will have tables and there will be plenty of games for children.

Come on out this Friday and Saturday to celebrate Lovell and small-town New England living! Check out KezarRealty.com for a more detailed information.
