By all accounts, it appears that most retailers are very happy with this Christmas selling season. Stores are full and people are spending more money that they have been in recent years. The shopping experience, however, rarely is pleasant. Aisles are crowded, checkout lines are long, kids are tired and for some reason, many clerks are happy to tell you that they only have an hour left before they go home.
Today, I think we have come to accept that receiving personal service when shopping is a thing of the past. So, I just want to pass along a pleasant shopping experience. For a number of years, I have been ordering centerpieces from Winter Wreaths a Maine firm located in Franklin, which is about a three-to-four hour drive from Lovell. I called their office one day last week to see if there was still time for a package to be sent to my Mom in NJ. They said there was and we started processing the order. When I mentioned my name, the woman said, "Yes, Mr. Tupaj from Lovell. We always see you at the Fryeburg Fair". Now, I have seen the impressive number of orders that they collect at just the Fair, so the fact that they remember my name and town when I call just floors me. You know that I will continue to order from Winter Wreaths in future years. Visit their website at www.downeasthost.com/winterwreaths. Or call them at 207-565-2989.
