Lovell Snow Scenes

The most recent snow storm picked-up a lot of steam in the early morning and looked like it was going to bring a good amount to our area. This may have contributed to SAD 72's decision to close the schools. But by mid-day it ended rather suddenly. I think we were lucky if the final tally was more than four or five inches of snow! After the past two or three years of some snow and then rain, it appears that we are having a normal winter. So dress very warmly as the next few days are going to be bitter cold.

Many people think this is the time of year to stay indoors and stay warm. But around western Maine, folks look for outdoor activities throughout the year. One event that is very popular is the Musher's Bowl in Bridgton. There are a number of activities that focus on snow, swimming (a fund-raiser for Harvest Hills Animal Shelter) and sled dogs. Check out the schedule here.

Here is the local weather forecast.
