Took a road trip to north Jersey to visit my Mom for both Mother's Day and her birthday and took a day trip to NYC. I always enjoy walking around and going to all the old spots to see how much things have changed. We crossed the Hudson on the ferry, visited the bustling WTC site, rode the carousel in Central Park, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and had lunch in Chinatown with dessert in Little Italy. Although there were plenty of news stories about looming budget cuts, the various neighborhoods we saw showed very few store vacancies, sidewalks seemed free of litter and the subway rides were fast and efficient.
Happy to say that our new Honda Fit provided a comfortable ride on the +/- 800 mile round trip. Plenty of room for three people and luggage and we averaged 41 miles on the way down and 39 miles on the return trip north. It doesn't compete with the bigger cars but it has a lot of zip and it is fun to drive!
I always enjoy seeing my Mom and visiting with family but I must say that it is great to get back to Lovell.
