The Waterford Fall Foliage 5k Run/Walk is one of my favorite local races in western Maine. I have run it a bunch of times but, over the past several years, have volunteered to work as a road monitor. The race starts and ends at the picturesque Village Green with the course capturing some minor hills and great views of the changing leaves and Keoka Lake. The race is well-organized and always includes a sharp-looking long-sleeved t-shirt (register early to reserve your shirt or volunteer). As an added bonus, the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Great Western Maine Chilli Cook-Off on the Green!
First-place was won by Adam Goldstein of Hudson, NH with a time of 19:17. The top female runner was Ann Marie Johnson of Westford, MA with a time of 21:49. At my spot at Rt 35 and the Sweden Road, I saw a number of familiar faces on the course including Fryeburg Academy freshman TJ Rose who finished fourth overall with a time of 20:00.

Now that everyone is in good shape don't forget the upcoming 6th Annual Gasping Gobbler 5k Walk/Run held at the Lovell Athletic Field on Saturday, November 19th!
