Here are two events in November that are not only fun, but help raise funds for local organizations:
The "Fourth Annual CHILI CHALLENGE: Battle of the Bowls" will be on Sunday November 13th from 12-2 pm at the Center Lovell Firehouse. All proceeds from this event goes directly to LOVELL FRIENDS HELPING FRIENDS which helps residents who are in need of assistance with winter heating costs (more than $1,000 was raised last year). Both individuals and businesses can compete with specially designed aprons given to the winners of People's Choice and Judges' Favorites categories. New this year is a Best Decorated Table category. Lace up your athletic shoes for the Sixth Annual Gasping Gobbler 5k Walk/Run on Saturday November 19th at 10am at the Lovell Athletic Field. The flat and fast course consists of three loops around the perimeter of the athletic complex and is spectator-friendly. The top male and female runners, top walker and 'middle of the pack' all win a turkey while ribbons are given to age group winners. The first 80 registrants receive a Gasping Gobbler premium while everyone enjoy some great refreshments and hot lunch at the VFW hall during the awards.
