5th Annual Chili Competition Winners

We knew that we were in for a good afternoon when the judges declared that this year's collection of chilis was the best ever! Twelve entrants cooked their specialty and shared it with 100 voters. People tasted, mingled and enjoyed a fun afternoon all while raising funds for a special local charity--Lovell Friends Helping Friends. LFHF provides heating assistance (oil, gas, wood) to needy local families.

Judges' Choice: First Place -- Stephen James Second Place -- Tie -- Bobby Collins and Ryan Caracciolo Third Place -- Tie -- Al Stearns and Center Lovell Market

People's Choice: First Place -- Stow Corner Store Second Place -- Bobby Collins Third Place -- Ryan Caracciolo

Best Table Design -- Bobby Collins

A big thank you to the judges: Janice Sage of the Center Lovell Inn, Marc Moulton, Bob Drew and Ethel Hurst. And thanks to all the bakers who contributed to the overflowing bake sale table, to those who donated items to the auction table and to the Lovell Fire Department for the use of the Center Lovell Firehouse. A total of $1,143 dollars was raised.

Here's the good news--if you were unable to attend the Chili Competition and would like to contribute much-needed funds, please send your check to LOVELL FRIENDS HELPING FRIENDS, c/o the Lovell Town Office, PO Box 236, Ctr Lovell, ME 04016.

I have a suggestion: Some of us knowing the winners only by number.. next year could you put the # next to the winners names. Not all voters know THE CHILI CHEFS! It was delicious. thank you for all the hard work everyone put in.
