Labor Day marks the traditional but unofficial end of summer. School has started so families have headed back home. The town slows down a little but this weekend begins my favorite time of year. Temperatures are cooler but you can still swim in the lake. The bugs are gone so going for a hike is a real pleasure. And the Fryeburg Fair is right around the corner!
I recommend highly one local Labor Day tradition--the Stoneham Rescue Service Breakfast. This Sunday, August 31st, from 7-10 am. Wonderful pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, donuts, oj and fresh coffee. All for $5.00! All proceeds benefit the Rescue Service. Butters Hill Road, just off Route 5.
