2014 Arts & Artisans Fair 449

2014 Arts & Artisans Fair 449This Saturday, August 16th, are two anticipated events that are always well attended and raise significant funds for their respective organizations.

First up in the morning is the 39th Annual Arts & Artisans Fair that benefits the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library. Starting at 9 am and continuing until 3 pm, this juried show has over 50 artisans spread inside and out the New Suncook School on Route 5. There will also be demonstrations, an always popular book sale, raffles and homemade refreshments. Come on out to see the talents of many local artists and craftsmen.

DSCF9008After a day at the Arts Fair or just tired from a great afternoon swimming and boating on the lake, have dinner at the Center Lovell Firehouse from 4-7 pm.  The food is always good and plentiful and proceeds benefit the Lovell Volunteer Fire Department. For just $9 you will have 1/2 chicken, freshly picked corn on the cob, delicious side dishes and ice cream treats. Be sure to come early as last year the kitchen ran out of chicken!

For many years, Ledge Hill Road saw a marked increase in traffic as people would make their way to Treehouse for all of their gardening needs. As you could expect, everyone wondered where to go?

To the rescue comes Fly Away Farm! The [...]

In 1972, Maine passed the Tree Growth Tax Law that is designed to help landowners not only retain their land but to also make it productive woodlands. A minimum of [...]
